This picture is entitled Douchy les Ayette and appears to be the remains of a memorial, which I presume once stood in the German cemetery in the village. The village, about 13 kilometres south of Arras, was in German hands from October, 1914 to 21 March, 1917 and briefly again in March 1918. The cemetery which once held 380 graves is long gone. I understand that the legend says:
He who dies in holy struggle, lies as if in his Fatherland.
