On the way to Islandbridge we stopped off at Dr. Steeven's Hospital to lay flowers on the grave of five men who died on 24 April 1916. Three of these men were from 3rd Battalion RIR, Privates Michael Carr, James Duffy & Thomas Treacy. It is believed that they had been wounded and died here as the Regiment rested and in keeping with the practise that the regiment had been used to on the Western Front, they were buried where they fell.
