Branch Meeting 21 April 2018
George Elliott
Acting Corporal 7345
Army Service Corps
Died 21 April 1918
Very little is known of George. We know that number 7342 Army Service Corps was issued on 26 June 1915, it is likely therefore that he enlisted at about this time. This is backed up by the fact that it has not been possible to find a Medal Index Card for him, and so based on an assumed date of the end of June 1915, the amount of War Gratuity paid to his widow, £8.10s, would be correct for a man that enlisted at that time and never served abroad.George died in the King George V hospital in Dublin and is buried in the Mount Jerome Cemetery in South Dublin.
