Arthur Sherwood Gainfort

Died, 18 April, 1915.

Arthur was born at St. Marys, Dublin, on 30 October, 1892, the second son of Constantine and Emma Gainfort.

The 1911 Census shows Arthur living with his parents at Fitzwilliam Terrace in Rathmines, and that he was employed as an Insurance Agent.

By April 1915, Arthur was serving with the RAMA at their Depot in Aldershot, and it was here on 18 April, that he died of Scarlett Fever.

As he did not serve abroad, Arthur was not entitled to any medals.

Arthur is buried in the Aldershot Military Cemetery.  

Arthurs only sibling, Percival William Gainfort, was Killed in Action only five months after Arthurs death on 9 September, 1915.
